Participants shape 2012 OKFestival’s open agenda
The 2012 OKFestival, which combines the Open Knowledge Conference and Open Government Data Camp, has published its 13 guest-organised topic streams and is calling for a second set of ideas “that further enrich … these themes with new perspectives”.
The second call for proposals – which closes 1 June – is seeking ideas for lightning talks, lectures, panel discussions, workshops and hackathons.
Agenda items for the “week-long celebration of action and collaboration” in Helsinki this September include open democracy and citizen movements; open government data; open development; open research and education; open geodata; data journalism and data visualization and open business and corporate data.
Two-thirds of the “groundbreaking, action-focused” programme was decided by the participants to the unconventional first call for proposals. The festival’s core organising team has posted a slide set explaining the planning process.
