The RSS 2010 International Conference will be held at the Brighton Centre in the south of England from 13 to 17 September.

The RSS 2010 Conference Programme Committee, with members drawn from across the Society's interests, is chaired by Vern Farewell, associate director of the MRC Biostatistics Unit in Cambridge.

The conference is intended to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of both methodological developments and areas of application of interest to statisticians and users of statistics alike.

Detailed plans are still being prepared but the organisers have indicated that the broad programme will cover topics including:

  • climate change modelling
  • evidence-based policy making
  • statistical genetics
  • social statistics
  • financial statistics
  • applied probability
  • 2011 Census
  • Bayesian inference
  • history of statistics

Submissions for contributed sessions, talks and posters will be invited early in the new year.

The conference will follow the now familiar schedule of pre-conference courses and workshops on Monday 13 September with the welcome reception held that evening.  The main conference will open on the morning of Tuesday 14 September and will run through to lunchtime on Friday 17 September.
