Consultation opens on RSS Honours
The Honours and Awards theme of the Royal Statistical Society has set up a working group chaired by Bernard Silverman to carry out a review of the Society's medals, prizes and other awards. As part of this review, the working group would welcome input from Fellows of the Society. The group has already identified a number of topics for detailed consideration; submissions related to these topics or any other aspect of RSS Honours and Awards would be very welcome. Topics already listed for consideration are whether there re any gaps in the current range of Society awards, for example to give more recognition to particular fields or aspects of excellence, and also whether any of the criteria for existing awards should be modified. The working group will also be considering whether there are any dormant awards which should be revived, and any other matters which arise from this consultation. Please make any submissions to Paul Gentry, Theme Manager for Honours and Awards, at p.gentry@rss.org.uk by 31 May 2010. Details of the current awards are available from the Society's web site at www.rss.org.uk/honours. |
