Books for Ibadan![]() Pictured, Olusanya Olubusoye, head of the statistics department at the University of Ibadan, with the donated publications
Last year, John Haigh of the University of Sussex kindly donated a large collection of journals and text books. These were collected from Brighton by Olalekan Obisesan, a member of staff from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, who is currently studying for a PhD at University College London. After a great deal of organisation on Olalekan’s part, around 120 textbooks and over 450 issues of various journals were shipped to Nigeria. These have now been catalogued and are in use by students in the department of statistics. The university would welcome further offers of books and journals. Olalekan can arrange for these to be collected and transported to Nigeria. If you have any publications that you would like to donate, please contact Sarah Barker at the Society in the first instance. |
