Datablog asks readers to help with budget analysisThe Guardian's datablog has extracted figures from the Treasury report behind the emergency budget delivered by the UK's coalition government on 22 June and asked readers if they can "do something with the data". Datablog has put tax, spending and tax credit reform figures from Chapter 2 of the Treasury's full budget report into a spreadsheet that can be downloaded. BBC economics editor Stephanie Flanders highlighted the challenge facing journalists trying to get to grips quickly with the full scope of the budget. On her Stephanomics blog she chose just two charts to comment upon, but noted that the Budget book "has information on it that on any other day would be a front page story". |
