Associate journal editors wantedThe editors of Series A (Statistics in Society) and Series C (Applied Statistics) are seeking nominations for associate editors. In addition to the standard procedure where the current panels draw up a list of possible new panel members, the editors would like to give members of the Society the opportunity to nominate themselves or others to the vacant positions. The panels will consider all nominations received. For Series A, the panel is looking for people who can cover areas in a wide range of disciplines using applicable statistical methodology. The panel would be particularly pleased to hear from those with interests in ecology, survey methodology, applied economics, geography, sports studies, history of statistics or general statistical modelling. For Series C, the panel is looking particularly for people who can cover one or more of the following areas: Bayesian statistics (particularly computational aspects); bioinformatics; biostatistics; epidemiology; semi- and non-parametric methods; spatial statistics; statistical ecology; statistical genetics. Associate editors are appointed for four-year periods and are usually asked to consider between six and ten papers per year. Suggestions and some brief biographic details should be sent by 15 September to the current editors Tony Fielding and Simon Day (simon.day@roche.com) for Series A or to Martin Ridout (M.S.Ridout@kent.ac.uk) for Series C. The editors will be pleased to provide further information if required.
