Members only Decline in IT statisticians salaries

There has been an 8 per cent decline in statisticians salaries in the IT industry since 2008 according to data published on IT jobwatch. Is that your experience? Does it apply to other sectors? Share your views in this forum.

Members only Statistical literacy in the news and other media

The Society is planning a 10-year (November 2010-November 2020) Statistical Literacy Campaign which will focus on raising the statistical literacy of society as a whole: students and teachers (in all phases), employees and employers from government to manufacturing to business, and a wide range of users of statistics including a strong focus on the citizen user, and the media.

With a view to building up an even stronger case for the campaign, we would like to capture current thinking on statistical literacy, the need for or lack of statistical skills, as shared in the news and other open media by employers, educational institutions, parliament and individual opinion formers ++.

It is hoped that members will be keen to share articles, excerpts from reports etc by posting them on this forum. This will help to build up a good picture of the value attached to statistical literacy and will be very useful as we further develop the framework for our Statistical Literacy Campaign.

Members only Meetings supplement in print
Do you want to keep the meetings supplement in the print issue of RSS NEWS? Do you pull it out and use it as a poster? Now that we have the events calendar on the eNews site, with all the meetings listed... is the print version redundant. Post your views, we need to know!		 1 1 21 Jan 2010 12:40
